Beschreibung

This exceptional townhouse in El Terreno, Palma dates back to 1910 and was designed by the Mallorcan architect Gaspar Bennàzar. It was renovated in 1987 and converted into a hostel and restaurant. It has 14 rooms, various terraces, porches and several lounges. Next to the building there is a parking area for about 10 cars. There is already a project to build an additional residential building plus pool on this car park as well as an underground car park with plenty of parking spaces. As soon as you enter the property, you are gripped by the feeling of immersing yourself in a historic era. The listed façade of the house in combination with the lush vegetation, the covered terraces to the right and left and the absolute tranquillity create a very special atmosphere that is very typical of the bohemian neighbourhood of "El Terreno". Lage

El Terreno Palma de Mallorca The famous artists' quarter "El Terreno" is a district of the Balearic capital Palma de Mallorca and borders directly on the "Bosque de Bellver", a public park in which the famous castle "Castillo de Bellver" is located. The history of this district is so exciting that one could write a book about it. At the beginning of the last century, El Terreno lured the well-heeled Palmesans out of their rather dark but beautiful city palaces in the old town of Palma to build a retreat there that turned out to be an ideal place of relaxation due to its direct proximity to the forest and the coast, especially the small bay of Can Barbara. Fantastic houses were built in a stately style with beautiful gardens and wonderful views of the bay of Palma. El Terreno quickly attracted those people who were able to realise an informal artistic life there. Gertrude Stein, Antoni Ribas, Ruben Darío, Rusiñol or Cristòfol Vilella are just a few of the famous personalities who were able to live their bohemian lives here. To this day, El Terreno has retained this special charm and continues to be a place of longing for people of all nations and naturally offers a perfect infrastructure such as international schools and kindergartens.
